Artist Statement: Beckylynn Spotten

My art is a direct extension of my life's mission: to publish peace in the mountains. Through the lens of my camera and the strokes of my oil and watercolor brushes, I capture the serene majesty and quiet power of landscapes, particularly those rugged Western mountains that have always been my sanctuary. My Bachelor of Fine Arts degree laid the foundation, but it was in navigating personal challenges – from chronic illness to anxiety – that I truly discovered nature as my most profound healing space.

For me, creating these images isn't about traditional artistic "success" or achieving a conventional "special" style. Instead, its triumph lies in its capacity to cultivate inner calm and connection. Each piece is an invitation to breathe, to ground oneself, and to remember the inherent resilience found both in nature and within ourselves. Just as I guide high-achieving women in their therapeutic journey from Soul to Summit, my art serves as a visual meditation, fostering deep connection with the self, relationships, and the natural world. My deepest success as an artist is when my work inspires that moment of peace, a breath of spaciousness, or a renewed sense of belonging within the viewer. It is, quite simply, art for the soul's ascent.
